Pregnant, Advised Susten Vt. Is It Licensed And Safe To Use?

Hi my wife is from london and in india at the moment she got pregnant. She had misscariage first time. This second time she is pregnant again and doctor in chandigarh has prescribed susten vt 100 for 21 days. Is this drug worldwide licensed. Is this safe to use for her? She is travelling and worried. Doesnt want to have another miscarriage please advice.

Hi,
The first thing that is contraindicated for any pregnant woman with a past history of miscarriage is TRAVEL. Susten is progesterone meant to maintain the pregnancy by creating a favorable endometrial lining and the drug can be had everywhere, if with a different trade name. I would suggest taking as much bed rest as possible and avoid any form of stress including intercourse until the pregnancy has stabilized. If the cause of the previous abortion is known, it should also be taken care of. Regular follow up is necessary. Hope your query is clarified. Take care.
