Pregnant. Vitamin C Tablets Taken. Can It Harm My Pregnancy?

hi doctor, i haven't been having menstruation for 7 months now and i haven't gone to a doctor to know how many months I've been pregnant now, but i did take a pregnancy test last march, and it was positive, i have this aunt of mine who is making me take vitamin c for two days now and i think I've already taken up 24 pieces of 1000 mg by now, and i just went online to see what it does for me because i didn't really know, and i found out that it could cause an abortion.. of course now I won't be taking vitamin c anymore because of what I have read, but I just wanted to know what it could do to my baby?

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Yes, In high doses vitamin-C is harmful in pregnancy it may cause abortion.
You should consult a gynaecologist routinely for your examination and ultrasonography to rule out any congenital abnormalities if your baby is normal you can continue with pregnancy.
Good Luck.
Take care.
