Pregnant. Taking Ecosprin For Blighted Ovum. Retardation Due To Stopping Medicine?
My wife is 37 week pregnant. She was advised to take Ecospirin 75 upto 37 weeks due to previous blighted ovum case and she has PCOD . But as we have repositioned, the new gynaecologist whom we consulted advised to stop Ecospirin at 36 week. Now the scan at 37 week 2 days shows that according to Femur Length of 70 mm the baby was only at 36 week 3 days maturity. Our doubt is whether stopping the ecospirin around 36 week has caused this retardation. Placenta is grade-3 maturity. Ur comment on both mother and child health is required.
Hello thanks for your query. Normally, Ecosprin is stopped around the 36th week. however, taking it for a week more has NO REPERCUSSIONS. In no way, would stopping ecosprin cause the retardation. Last week ultrasound scans are MOST UNRELIABLE for dating a pregnancy. One week disparity is quite acceptable. According to me, the ultrasound report is quite normal, so please do not worry. All the best.
