Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain that you are having on urination is likely to be related to a urinary tract infection. You need to get an ultrasound scan and a routine urine test done to find out the exact cause of the pain you are having.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Rakhi-Tayal

General & Family Physician Dr. Luchuo Engelbert Bain's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query,
Right upper back pain, especially in pregnancy should give a suspicion of pyelonephritis. Pregnancy is a risk factor to develop urinary tract infections. It is absolutely important to exclude this. I suggest you do a urinary dip stock, urine culture and sensitivity tests. A clinical evaluation shall very appropriate to exclude a lung infection that could also present itself as such.
Based on the clinical assessment, your treating physician will decide on either prescribing an ultrasound or not. Taking an appointment with your obstetrician is appropriate. If the appointment can take so long, going to the primary care physician or emergency room could be appropriate.
Thanks and hope this helps.
Luchuo, MD.
