Pregnant. Low lying placenta. Have discomfort and heaviness. Do I have a prolapse?

Hi I am 19wks pregnant and have been told I have a low lying placenta . I am currently experiencing a lot of discomfort and heaviness like a dragging feeling in the vagina this is more so when I have been on my feet or at work. Although there is nothing coming out of the vagina could it be possible that I have a prolapse and what should I do about it.

Hi and thanks for using HCM.

Fro the information you have provided, it is very unlikely that you are having a prolapse. This is because with the added weight during pressure, any prolapse must be even more prominent and easier to diagnose. And if this should be the uterus, the chances of abortion should have been very high. However, only a good exam by your OBGYN can exclude this though unlikely.

Placenta previa puts you at high risk during pregnancy. Please, follow up closely with your OBGYN to avoid pregnancy related complications especially after the 30th week.

Hope this helps. Wish you well.
