Hello Dr, I am 30 years old with 1st pregnancy of 37wks , I have posterior herniation of L4-L5 and L5-S1 discs with posterior osteophytes formation and large intraosseous hemangioma in L5 vertebral body which was diagnosed incidentally 7 years back. The course of my pregnancy is absolutely normal with mild occasional back pain..will normal delivery affect this spinal condition? and which method of anesthesia is preferable in case of caesarean section with this condition?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Since you already have a degenerative disc disease, you are more likely to have a back pain during pregnancy due to an extra weight on the spine. In case C- section is needed, epidural anaesthesia will be the best one for you.
