Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
You are having Gestational Diabetes, and must understand in this type of diabetes blood sugar diagnostic and management are more strict, as it is related to outcome.
The treatment of choice is Insulin therapy to keep blood sugar level to desired level.
Your numbers are certainly high and only diet control may not be enough as if too much calories are reduced then other problems of nutrition may appear.
Fasting should be 5.3 mmol/L, and after 2 hour of lunch 8.6 mmol/L/
Please follow instructions as given by your Physician as uncontrolled diabetes results in large baby and other complications.
Along with treatment take care of diet 30 Kcal/kg body weight with avoiding simple sugars.
you can also have regular walking daily 45 to 60 min, which will help to control blood sugar level.
Hope this helps and take good care of yourself.

Hello,

You're a GDM mother.
Your FBS is around 120 and your PPBS is around 140.
Your Doctor is correct. It is pretty high.
You should understand one thing. Tight control of blood sugar is needed for good Fetal and maternal outcomes.
Diet can help you to only some extent and in pregnancy you require some extra calories.
Insulin is safe and the best choice.

Hello,
Fasting sugar of 6.5 mmol is equal to 117 mg sugar and is just above normal while PP sugar of 7.6 mmol is equal to around 136 mg of sugar which is also fairly normal.
I don't think you require any medication for this,
Just little dietary control and more small meals along with some exercises shall make these levels more normal.
Avoid sugar and high carb diet.
I think there is nothing to worry except that be careful in your diet and little exercises.
Keep monitoring your sugar levels.
Thanks
