Pregnant. Bleeding, Cramping, Sac Still There. Done HCG Test. Possible To See Fetus And Hear Heartbeat?

Hi I am 33 yeers old and expecting my first child. (aug 15) The same day my pregnancy was confirmed, I began bleeding and cramping. I went to the ER but was not seen because they said it was to soon to see anything with an ultrasound. I was told if the cramps and or bleeding gets worse or if I start passing clots to return. Well the cramping ceased and so did the bleeding. I finally went in to see my OB in September only to discover an empty sac, I asked had I miscarried in Aug, and her reply was NO, because your sac is still here. She went on to say that my ultrasound looks normal if I was only 5/6 weeks, but not normal for someone that is 9/10 weeks. They took my blood to test my hcg levels and other hormones, but I havent heard back from them yet???? Is it possible to see the fetus and hear a heartbeat at a later date. And if so where could the baby be hiding?:

Hi,
A very early pregnancy of about 4-5 weeks may sometimes be difficult to detect in an abdominal ultrasound. A trans-vaginal sonogram can detect it accurately. If the outline of the sac is regular, it suggests that pregnancy may be viable. You should correlate your dates with the sonogram findings. If you are regular with your cycles, they should correspond. Else, it can be a missed pregnancy. Follow up sonograms along with serial serum beta-hCG titres to detect if the levels are doubling every 2-3 days detect the viability of the pregnancy. Normally, fetal pole should be seen at around 5-6 weeks along with fetal heart. Please wait for the results and try to relax. Good luck.
