dear doctor..we got married recently....last period date of my wife is 23rd march....as we counted like 3rd April to 9 April are not safe and so we avoided sex those days... we met on 30th march and after april 11th...even then my wife is pregnant ...how is it possible..???? also she is sufferinf from throid and can she take abortion pills ....?????suggest me.......please

Ovulation generally takes place between day 10-day 18 in a woman who has a regular 30 day cycle. That would be between the 3rd April and 13th April for your wife. So technically speaking, if you had unprotected sexual intercourse after 11th April, she can become pregnant. Thyroid issues are not a contraindication for using medication for abortion. However, this must be done strictly under the supervision of a gynaecologist as there is a risk of excessive bleeding which can lead to death. I would suggest you see a gynaecologist if the pregnancy needs to be terminated. There are several options available including surgical methods and drugs.
