Possible Pregnancy. Diagnosis Of Ms Advised, Lumbar Puncture Under Xray Needed. Is It Safe?
Is it safe to have a lumbar puncture under x-ray if i'm pregnant? I am having this done for a diagnosis of MS, I had the MRI. However when they first tried a lumbar puncture they couldn't get the fluid so have made me and appt to have this done under x-ray. There is now a possibility i could be pregnant, would this affect the pregnancy?

No,X- ray is not safe if possibility of pregnancy is there,it is very harmful for baby,so if you are suspecting pregnancy not to go for lumber puncture under x-ray.
You should consult a gynecologist first to rule out your pregnancy by urine, blood test and ultrasonogrphy.
