Possibility Of Perianal Sinus, No Relief With Tramadol. How To Locate The Size, Location Of Sinus?

I suffer from a pilonical sinus, or possibly perianal sinus, which has been bearable for the last 8 months but its now very uncomfortble even when using Tramadol as prescribed. Neither my GP or specialist can recommend any treatment options as there are no visible symptoms.
I understand the cyst cannot be located through either X-ray or MRI. Is there any procedure in which the size and location of a pilonidal sinus can be identified so that my specialist can then proceed with surgery or other treatment?

Hi ! If you there are no visible symptoms, how the pilonidal sinus was diagnosed. To diagnose the pilonidal sinus, there has to be atleast a pit in the area, and the sinus will be discharging pus whenever it gets infected, which could be the reason for your pain. I would suggest you to re discuss with your physician/surgeon for consideration of an MRI, which will demarcate the level of the sinus, or a sinogram if there is a clear cut opening. If it has been diagnosed as a pilonidal sinus, the treatment is surgery for a cure. Wishing you an early recovery.
