Popping In Knee, Swelling. What Is Wrong?

While doing splits, my daughter felt a sharp popping pain in the back of her knee. Ever since this injury happened a week ago, she has had problems doing any kind of stretching and sometimes some pain when even just walking around normally. The pain is to the back of the knee joint where there is also swelling . She can bend her knee, but its the straightening of her leg that gives her the problems.

Thanks for posting your query
From description it seems your daughter might having bakers cyst or popliteal cyst. Get it examined by an orthopaedician. Massage and streching exercises will help.
I hope this is helpful to you.
