Polycythemia Vera, Knots On Leg, No Fever, Cellulitis?

My 75 y/o white female mother has a history of policythemia vera. She has had knots that are hot to touch show up on her legs before. She has one now behind her r knee . She is not running a fever that I know of at this time. Could this be cellulitis?

Cellulitis should hav fever leg pain and rednesss...clots in the blood is unlikely to prezent as knits on the leg...if those ate soft painls could be a benign lipomas...you can consult a surgeon if the swelling is really bothering you....
