Please suggest treatment for atypical trigeminal neuralgia

Do you know of a treatment for atypical trigeminal neuralgia besides the usage of lyrica, neurotic, topimax, etc. I have already have had nerve decompression without success. The second and third quadrant of the nerve on both sides of the face are involved. I have seen 9 neurologists, one neurosurgeon w/surgery at Barrows neuralgia hospital, Botox shots, now cortisone shots without much relief. This last year I have become more seditary and weaker due to innabiliy to control the pain. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Hello,

There are cases of resistant trigeminal neuralgia in the medical literature that were treated with acupuncture.

Radiofrequency rhizotomy also is another possible treatment way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Erion Spaho, Neurologist, Surgical
