Persisting stomach problem, fever and burning sensation in the food pipe. Stool test advised. Could it be due to a stomach infection?

hi i have had upset stomach since 20 days. fever comes in the evening that is generally 99. i feel weak and sleepy . i have a slight burning sensation in my food pipe too. i have lose motions . my doctor asked me for a stool test . but he says its a severe stomach infection thats it. can yo pls advise me of what the case may be. i am really tensed..

Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that you might be having infection of the gastrointestinal tract.

Your doctor has correctly advised for stool examination. You should follow his advise.
This will help in knowing whether infection or parasitic infestation is the cause of your symptoms.
You may need an antibiotic and antiamoebic depending upon the reports of the investigations.

Till the time your reports come, you can take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with a probiotic.

Eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions. Also take care of your hydration.
