Period Is Late. Pregnancy Test Negative. Had Stopped Birth Control. Is It Serious?
Hi, i have been taking birth control and i have stopped taking it because i have gained so much weight. The following month i didn't have my period. I took 10 Pregnancy tests and they all said negative and i don't feel pregnant so i don't think it's that. I wanted to see if my pills threw me off since it was the skip two months method of pills or if it's cancer or anything else serious.
The side effect that you are experiencing is called 'post-pill amenorrhea'. This is commonly seen in women who have been on birth control pills, irrespective for how long. The pills get the body used to not ovulating, and once these pills are discontinued, the body takes some time to return back to the previous functions. In some women it returns with the next cycle, whereas in some, it might take several weeks.
I am sure this is not cancer, and you should not worry about cancer at all. But, you should consult a doctor to help regularize your period, especially if you are planning on extending you family.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
