Pelvic Ultrasound Shows Myomatous Changes Of Uterus. Have Distended Abdomen, Lower Back Pain, Leg Pain, Bloating

I had a pelvic ultrasound done. The report says Uterus: anteverted in position, measuring 8.0 x 3.7 x4.1 cm. Echogenicity heterogeneous. Uterus mildly bulbous in configuration. No discrete fibroids. Impression: Myomatous changes of the uterus.

I'm 56 and perimenopausal (last period 4/13). I went to doctor because I had tender and distended abdomen, lower back and pelvic pain, pain that shoots down my leg. I almost always feel bloated, full, tired, breathless if I climb more than 20 stairs (unusual). I was told first that I had fibroids, then that none were obvious, but that my uterus was enlarged with thickening in the walls. What is echogenicity heterogeneous? Should I be concerned about any of this.

Hi
Thanks for your query.
Heterogenous echogenicity and the changes in the uterus means that there are no specific fibroids identified, but there is overall thickening of the WALL of the uterus.
being Perimenopausal, these changes would cause you lower abdominal and pelvic pain, and sometimes severe bleeding.
Have a consultation to evaluate other causes of the pain and breathless ness, as this is not responsible for them.
Take care.
