Pelvic ultrasound showing small cortical irregularity, cortical scarring. Would MRI provide a better information?

I had pelvic ultrasound which showed small cortical irregularity measuring 2.5cm x 1.8cm. Report says this is non-specific finding which may simply represent a degree of cortical scarring. It suggests further evaluation with renal ct protocol. My creatinine level is 109mmol/l. My question is would an MRI provide se information as ct scan? And could this be cancer?

An MRI is a more systemic examination, whereas, a CT scan is a more locally detailed investigation.

A CT scan would be more beneficial in this case. And cancer is unlikely, but cannot completely be ruled out without more detailed investigations.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
