Hello Chanda
Fibroids are very common in women of reproductive age and 2-3 women in your age group can have fibroids.
If your periods are heavy your doctor will give you medication to decrease the flow, to be taken when you have your periods. You will probably need iron tablets as well, to correct the anaemia.
Usually, this should be sufficient. If you continue to have problems, they may advice you to insert a Mirena coil in the uterus, which is very effective in reducing the amount of bleeding.
Operation is advised only when all medical therapy has failed to act.
Best wishes.
