Patches on white hair on forehead, white from the roots, black at the tips. Poliosis?

I have patches of white hairs from last one year on my forehaed. On closely examine the patches of hairs are not completely white. They are white form the root and the half strands are black. Since this occur in patches, I fear this could be Poliosis. Since they are at the top of forehead i Feels very embarassing. Please guide, how should I know whether it is Poliosis or not.
