Patch on right forearm, painful to touch, mysteriously disappeared, new spot on left hip. Causes?

For a couple of weeks I had a patch about the size of a golf ball on my right forearm that was extremely painful to touch. It felt like a really bad bruise and/or sunburn , but there was nothing there and I had not injured myself. The painful spot went away as mysteriously as it came but now I have another just like it on my left hip. What s going on?
