Part of the tomato sandwich skin seems to be stuck in throat, tried drinking fluids, bread and coughing but no improvement. Remedy to take it out?

I was eating a tomato sandwich five days ago, and ever since it feels like part of the skin is stuck in my throat . I ve tried gulping water, eating dry bread, eating biscuits, and coughing as much as I can and it still won t come up. I have gone to a doctor and he told me to keep drinking fluids. I ve done this religiously for the last three days and it still hasn t shifted it. Please help. Thank you.

Thanks for writing your query to us.

Your doctor has rightly told you to drink water. Drinking lot of water should have flush the skin of tomato by now. Try doing gargles that will help to remove the skin. If your still getting a foreign body sensation than kindly visit a ENT specialist who will examine it locally & find out exact cause whether any infection of throat that is giving you this foreign body sensation. Dont worry.
Take care.

Hello Dear
Thanks for your query.

First of all I would like to ask you not to panic. If you are sure that its just skin of tomato and nothing else then dont worry it will go down with fluids or food bolus ...

If its causing too much of a trouble then you can consult an ENT specialist he will remove it with his surgical instruments.

But may be its not just tomato skin but you are getting a sore throat , in that case too no need to panic , follow your doctor's advice and it will be ok.

Hope this helps.

Update here how you stay.

Take care.

Hello Sir,

Kindly try eating bananas instead. Perhaps chew a mouthful of it and swallow it as a lump.

If one doesn't work, try eating a couple of them.

I hope it helps. Do let me know the result.

Take care.
