Parkinson S Disease, Weakness, Heart Burn, Indigestion, Back Pain, Reduced Madopar Dosage. Suggestions?

Look, I don't have any money to offer, am worried I have an emergency, can get to a hospital, but don't want to do this if it can wait to tomorrow, I've got Parkinson's and have recently tried to reduce my Madopar because of heart burn and intense back pain, happens always at 5 or 6 in the evening, tried to take the last dose away at night before sleeping, the next day I am just too weak. I take 4 times a day 100/25, the indigestion and heart burn is on top of a beginning barretts disease. What doctor should I get to first?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,
You are diagnosed with Parkinson's and are on levodopa and benserazide (?duration). Suffering from heart burn, indigestion and intense backpain. Levodopa is known to cause acute symptoms like nausea and vomiting. These are usually transient and can generally be avoided by gradual titration. If they persist, they can be treated with additional doses of carbidopa or benserazide or agent such as domperidone (not available in the United States).
A long standing irritation to the lining of the food pipe with stomach acid causes barrette's oesophagus. Diagnosis made only through proper investigations. You can go back to your treating neurologist/psychiatrist in case the pain is not intolerable, in which case you may need a surgeon.
Hope this helps,
Dr Anjana rao.
