Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Generally, Paralysed and bedridden patients are more prone to all types of systemic infections and Urinary sepsis being one of them.

An aggressive treatment is indicated to treat these infections lest it may end up in septicemia.

The most commonly used group of drugs to treat Urinary tract infections are ORAL QUINOLONES or PARENTERAL CEPHALOSPORINS. The specific drug that is used will be dictated by the isolated organism in the culture and sensitivity test.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
