Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi.. i had a big boil 2nd time between hips and it was so painful and it has blasted now yesterday i saw a general surgeon i checked and gave me some medicine to dry the wound and said after that will give you a test and will tell you that it needs a operation or not... and if it needs then we will take a vein or something like dis from that part otherwise after a month that boil comes again
Recurrent boils are known to occur because of following reasons :
1] Inadequate treatment
2] Poor hygiene
3] Associated disease like diabetes mellitus
4] Reduced immunity
I think the surgeon has prescribed you antibiotics and if the wound doesn't heal he may need to drain it properly and send the pus for a culture report and then treat you according to the report
If drained properly and treated as per sensitivity report the chances of recurrance are very low
Hope this helps
