I have a painful lump in my armpit about the size of a quarter and about 1/2 inch deep it has just now become a raised bump and yesterday I put pressure on it and is oozed a smelly, yellowish white pus. its really hard and hurts to move my arm. Should I be worried or is this common. I don't want to keep searching the internet and getting too many ideas. Thank you.

Hello,

If may be a boil. The swelling is due to infection and abscess formation. If the swelling is big you may need incision and drainage of the pus. If it is small then a course of antibiotic will do.
