Painful cramps, shorter and scanty periods, leg numbness after starting birth control. Cause and remedy?

I started birth control 2 months ago and it has made my periods much much more painful, shorter and less blood flow , but the cramps are almost unbearable. I had my period two weeks and got it again 4 days ago during the medicated cycle of birth control. This period has had an elongated time of cramps (78 hours, it usually lasts about 56) and my legs are numb
