Pain While Walking, Swollen Kneecap, Burning Sensation While Lying Down After Fall. On Ibuprofen, Lortab. Is This Concerning?
I fell on the basketball court yesterday, and hit the bone just below the knee cap. Swelled like a softball. I can walk with limited pain, but when I lie down I get an awful burning sensation, as if I am being cut with a hot razor blade. Taking ibuprofen and lortab prescribed by urgent care.

what happens is that the bone is covered by thick membrane - periosteum
assuming that you dont have a fracture,
blood can collect between the bone and periosteum
it causes your features of swelling and pain
it resolves gradually
so u need not worry
but do rule out a fracture with a xray
