Pain Near Right Rib Cage After Undergoing A Dermoid Cyst And Right Ovary Removal. Is This Normal?
I am 53 years old. I have never had an operation in my life until last month. The operation was due to a dermoid cyst on my left ovary. I had the cyst and right ovary removed. The last 5 days I have had a sore spot under my right rib cage like a pulled muscle that you would get after exercising. Also, discomfort in my upper right shoulder. Could this be due to my procedure I had done? It does not seem to be going away.
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. The pain under the right rib cage may be due to some adhesions due to removal of the ovary, and the pain would have extended due to the pull due to the contracture of the adhesion. Other reason might be due to the gastric irritation due to the tablets used after the surgery, and due to continued use, the refered pain may have extended to the shoulder. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms omeprazole, domperidone, antacid gel, along with or with out the antibiotic tablets. Avoid taking spices. junk foods, and oily foods. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
