Pain In The Pubofemoral Ligament, Feels Like A Pop. Anything To Ease The Pain ?

I am a 43 yo female and I am NOT pregnant. I am having pain in the pubofemoral ligament (specifically the joint between the femur and the pelvis ). It tends to be caused when having to stop abruptly. When this happens, it feels like a pop. What can I do to ease the pain. I walk on a regular basis and I am not over weight (5 9 & 158lbs).

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Feeling a pop in the pubofemoral ligament could be indicative of degenerative changes in the hip joint or a labral tear. An MRI of the affected hip joint will help in proper diagnosis. Meanwhile you can take mild pain killers for symptomatic relief.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
