Pain In The Knee After Being Hit. Have Inflammation. Due To Weak Cartilage?

i have a pain in my left knee .as in last oct my nephew hit me with plastic bat...then i went so many doc .but as soon as started walk a.nd do some household things . i feel pain .and inflamation...it also givw me limp while walking .......one my doc says that its cartilage is weak...what should i do to avoid inflamation and some times pain....

Hi and thanks for the query.
I am sorry about what you are going through right now.

Swelling and pain is normal shortly after and injury but it should resolve within weeks. also, each time you limp, then is most be thoroughly investigated.

Because this has been going on for more than 6months i will suggest that you get evaluated. Meet with an orthopedic surgeon who will examine for any signs of ligament /menisci/bones/tendon damage. If need be, he will most probably order an MRI that will evaluate all the structures of the knee including the ligaments fully.

For the main time, please avoid bearing weight on the joint, make most unavoidable movements by cars, sit most of the times and only stand when sitting is not an option for fear of aggravating any existing lesion.
