Pain In Teeth Which Filling Is Done, Swollen Face. Done Partial Root Canal. Advice?

I had a partial root canal and a temp filling out in which just fell out. I got the filling stuff at the pharmacy to try and cover it but I keep smelling a rotton smell and I have pain in that tooth plus two others. my face is swollen and I'm in so much pain. I can't afford to go to the dentist so what can I do at home to help?

Hi,
It seems that through half root canal treatment and temporary filling there is infection took place giving rise to swelling and pain on that area.
Consult your doctor and go for one antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines course to control infection if your dentist is not available.
Afterwards consult your dentist and go for further treatment.
Ok and take care.

Hi there,
Thanks for asking your query,

This is a dental emergency, you have to visit your dentist as soon a possible.
You have severe tooth abscess.it won't go away without treatment. dentist will drain your abscess and you will have relief from pain immediately .If the abscess doesn't drain, the infection may spread to your bone and soft tissue.you can even develop sepsis.

Dentist will take few medical and dental history ,few x-rays and identify the tooth associated with abscess and diagnose whether it has spread to the other areas.if your cannot afford for re-treatment of root canal and any other associated tooth ,They are other options which your dentist would recommend you like extraction of the infected tooth.

Beware of the over the counter products .your dentist is a right person to diagnose and treat the cause.

Meanwhile maintain a good oral hygiene,
hope this will you,
regards,
dr.naveen

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your concern,

I think the first sitting of root canal treatment was done for your tooth but you have not mentioned how many sittings had been done...

Infection is there inside the tooth...but it will go in subsequent sittings...

Upto the next appoinment you can start proper course of antibiotic and pain medication accoding to prescription...

Meanwhile do warm salt water rinses 6-7 times/day...it will give you relief...

Don't apply any hot compress from outside that may increase the existing swelling....

Get your complete treatment done....

Take care...
