Pain In Swallowing, Speaking, Sore Adams Apple, Getting Over Strep Throat And Pneumonia. Treatment?
Im getting over strep throat and pneumonia...I havent been able to eat or drink in 4 days because my adams apple is so incredibly sore that it feels like shard of glass are in my throat. I'm not speaking well. I've tried gargling with salt water, popsicles, I've tried doing a nebulizer treatment for moisture and also mineral oil for lubrication. what can I do to ease the pain of swallowing so that I may drink something?

With little information and as per the history you have given and the clinical findings you may be suffering with acute Pharyngitis and I would suggest you to get the culture and sensitivity done for the throat swab. and start the broad spectrum antibiotic, analgesics, steam inhalation.
But still I would suggest you to consult the Specialist if you don’t get relief as on examination the findings may be different and line of treatment may have to be changed. Please don’t hesitate to consult and ask for any more query. i will be pleased to answer.
