Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Pain In Shoulder, Worsens At Night. Taking Paracetamol, Codeine Plus. Should I Return To GP?
I have a deep pain in my upper right shoulder area which has persisted intermittently for 10 days. Feels like a " punch" although I have not twisted or pulled any muscles to my knowledge. I also have good posture. It worsens at night. I have been prescribed paracetamol and codeine plus 600 mg ibroprofen tablets. They help during the day to take " the edge" off but are not too effective at night. Should I return to my GP. Am concerned it could be referred pain.
HI Thank for asking to HCM The medicine you have been taking is symptomatic medicine, it will only subside the symptoms, in fact under laying cause should be treated, and for that you will have to go for diagnosis test for to make diagnosis, so I would advise you to go for orthopedic surgeon, take care.
