Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
The description suggests that you have Cervical disc disease with radiculopathy resulting in pain in the neck and tingling/numbness down the limb.

The initial management for this problem is conservative -
*avoid using bulky pillows beneath the head
* use of a cervical collar
* Physiotherapy for your neck muscles
* analgesics & muscle relaxants as and when necessary
* Use of neurotropic vitamins ( especially methylcobalamine )

As you have an "extruded" disc fragment causing compression over the C7 nerve root, it is less likely to respond to conservative management.

I personally feel that you may need a surgical decompression.

Consult a spine surgeon and follow his advice.

Hope this information is helpful . Good day
