Pain In Head, Sore Feeling Around Nose, No Mucus. Earlier Taken Serepax For Tension Headache

Hi there,
I have had sharp pains all over my head for two weeks now. I am not sure if its my sinisus or if its somthing bad it hurts above my eye brow and near the top of my skull then somtimes hurts at the back of my skull and on my temples its a sharp pain an also pressure. I have a bit or a sore feeling around nd my nose where sinisus would be but i dont have any musus or anything i feel a bit stuffy when i get up in the mornings like im getting a cold but it goes away. I had similar pains two months ago and went to the doctors and he told me its tension headachs and gave me me pills called serepax to take at night time to relax me they seemed to help but now the pain is back i am only allowed half of one. I have been taking them again but nothing has been working i have had a massage to relax my muscles aswell but still nothing is working. The pain is not unbearable just annoying bit wprried it might be somthing serious like a tumor . Any advice would be great. Thank you

Hi,
I can understand your concern regarding the cause of your headache.By History the site of pain, its character and associated symptoms do not point to any definite diagnosis.Since you were treated as Tension headache earlier I presume that there was no significant finding on clinical examination also. So,it may be better to evalute for the various causes for your headache. An x ray PNS(Paranasal sinus)will show haziness in the sinuses ,if they are the culprits. An advanced CT scan would help in doubtful cases.Ct scan of the sinuses along with the head will rule out other possibilities like a tumour which is already worrying you.A thorough exam for refractory errors is required.Tension headache and migraine are diagnosed mostly by exclusion.I think a detailed evaluation may alleviate your fears and allow you to live peacefully.
