Pain in chest, lump on sternum. How to get cured?

I have a pain in my chest , and I noticed a lump on my sternum. It is not too hard and not soft. The pain is worse on some days compared to others. It is most noticeable when I m lying on my side or when I sneeze . It is only on the left side of my chest. It has been like this for a few months and I have tried antacid pills but that doesn t help at all.

Hope you are doing good. A lump on the sternum may be caused by a cyst, tumor, or hernia. The xiphoid process is the most common cause of a lump on the sternum. Occasionally a hernia can also cause a lump on the sternum. This occurs when a small amount of fatty tissue or intestines bulges out of the abdominal cavity through an opening in the bones. Very small hernias may not require treatment, but in many cases surgery will be necessary.
For the chest pain the first thing you should do is EKG. To rule out that you dont have any Cardiac disease and then X-Ray chest. Antacid wont help with it. You should try anti inflammatory medicine.
