Pain In Adams Apple, Shooting Pain In Neck. Cure For Symptoms?
Pain in/behind adams apple only occassionally when turning head to right and coming back to center. Started 4 weeks ago...went away completely for two weeks and now is back. Sometimes is accompanied by shooting pain in back of neck. Yelling episode 4-5 weeks ago seems to be a possible precursor. Also have an Off Center Adams Apple that I believe has always been like that though in looking at pictures from 5/6 years ago
Hello, I understand that you have pain in the front and back of neck. The severity may differ. Pain increases with movement of your neck. It was initiated with a yelling pain 4-5 weeks back. In between you were alright for 2 weeks. Behind the Adams apple laryngitis or pharyngitis can produce pain, but more of inner aspect. In that case you may develop hoarseness of voice also. The probable cause may be a referred pain from the cervical spines. Your complaints are more in favor of that. If antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs do not relieve the symptoms consult an ENT surgeon to rule out throat causes. If ENT is found normal, consult a neurosurgeon and take MRI cervical spine to rule out pressure over the nerves. Adams apple may be off center. As your complaints are vague, there may not be any trouble at all. Best wishes for you
