Pain Even After The Disappearance Of Bump To Be Worried?

Hi the wind caught the car door as I was opening it on Friday and ended up banging my head against the car door. I went to get checked at the hospital as a bump appeared as they said I am mildly concussed. The bump has now gone but I am still feeling pain. Should I be worried?

Hi. The chance of developing a significant head injury from the mechanism you describe is low, unless you are taking any blood-thinning medication. You have been assessed in the hospital. You do not describe any symptoms that may suggest having sustained a concussion. I would need to know the other symptoms to explain a diagnosis of a concussion. From what you describe, I believe that your pain will likely settle down in a few days or weeks. Take some regular pain relief such as paracetamol and ibuprofen if you have no contraindications to do so. If you develop sickness, dizziness or collapse then please visit your nearest Emergency Department as a priority. I hope this helps.
