PMS Syndrome, Migraine, Lack Of Energy Before Periods. Having Fibroid. Suggestions?
I am a healthy 44 year old woman...all tests from OBGYN came back normal....I do have an 11cm fibroid but, I don't really experience pain from it. However, during the three months I started getting bad pms symptoms and now get migraines and feel a lack of energy before my cycle begins and for a couple days into it...please advise. I have never experienced such pms and have never had migraines.
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
It is uncertain to what extent the fibroid and the PMS symptoms are related. The confusing thing about your story is why the PMS symptoms became an issue all of a sudden. The options for treatment of PMS include birth control pills, the depoprovera shot or consideration of anti-depressant medications during the second half of your cycle. With regard to a fibroid this size, it might be causing borderline anemia (associated with heavy cycles) that does not necessarily show up on the blood work. The fibroid itself should be followed with exam and ultrasound, and there should be consideration of its removal because of its size.
I hope that this helps and good luck!
