Overweight,Herbal life,folvite 5mg to conceive.

Hi I am from Bangalore . I am 26 year old got married 1.4 years back . My height is 5.2 and Weight is 85 kgs. I am using Herbal life product to reduce my weight . Me and my hubby are planning for a baby and my periods are regular. As prescribed by the doctor i am taking folvite 5 mg from past 9 days. Will it help me to get pregnant?

Thanks for writing in.
Folvite contains folic acid which is a vitamin. This will not help you conceive. This is given to reduce the number of birth defects in your child, particularly in the brain and spinal cord region. For conceiving, I would suggest you have unprotected sexual intercourse every day (atleast on alternate days) on day 10-day 18 of the cycle ( if you have a 30 day cycle). Also, lose weight with a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. There is no product which has been shown to help reduce weight in the long term. Maintain a stress free lifestyle and I think you should be able to conceive pretty soon.
