Overweight. Loss Of Erection During Intercourse. Normal?

Hi,
Just a simple question really, I have checked already and am overweight for my age and height, using bmi. During intercourse, I sometimes lose my erection, is this normal for someone overweight? Or could it be a psychological issue? I am not massively overweight, probably around 2-3 stone heavier.
Please advise,

Hello
yes, being overweight is certainly a cause for sexual problems. It is because associated raised cholesterol level narrows down the cavernosal artery in penis, thus reducing blood flow and rigidity. You should try to reduce weight and start brisk morning walk/jogging for 30 minutes to restore sexual fitness.
I may also add here that losing some hardness during sex may be normal and you should keep your focus on pleasure, not on state of penis. This is also very helpful

GOOD LUCK

hi,
this is definitely not because of overweight. but if bringing your BMI to normal helps your confidence, thats fine. your issue may be psychological only. dont think of anything, just enjoy sex. everything should be fine. when you cum or precum starts coming definitely erection comes down, thats natural, not just for you for everyone.

wishing you healthy life.

OBGYN Dr. Rubee Khattar's  Response
Hi,
your so much concern regarding your being overweight points to some psychological issues you have about your weight that may affect erectile function.
Moreover, obesity is known to cause atherosclerosis (choking of blood vessels due to fat deposition) in many blood vessels including those responsible for erection. this is compounded by any smoking or alchohol that you might be taking.
you need a lipid profile and a urologist's consultation
Good Luck
