I am 48 yr old female with osteochondroma of shoulder about 1.9 cm in diameter along with rotator cuff re-injury. How often at my age do they come back as cancerous? Can they determine if cancerous with MRI? I have no family medival history because I am adopted.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The chances of detecting a malignant lesion on MRI are high. But a biopsy is necessary for the confirmation of the diagnosis and to start the treatment.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
