Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

The nappy rash developed due to frequent passage of loose stools, persistent wetting, rub due to frquent cleaning, and the acidic nature of the loose stool.

For healing of nappy rash :

1.Clean gently with a soft cloth and just touch and don't rub the area

2. Allow the area to dry

3. You can apply an zinc oxide containing cream like rash free or siloderm

5.Change the diapers frequently and at home diaper is not required.

Finally if the loose mtions subside, the rash will heal quickly.

Continue the medication as advised by your Pediatrician.

Maintain hydration by giving sips of oral rehydration fluids like Pedialyte, coconut water, and lemon water.

Probiotics like saccharomyces or lactobacillus sachet can be given 3 to 5 days as per the doctor's advise.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Hi
Thanks for your query.
Your baby is having gastroenteritis which is mostly viral in nature and settles in few days.
This is good that vomiting has stopped.
Most important is to maintain hydration.
Give oral rehydration solution sip by sip after each loose stool, give coconut water, lemonade, buttermilk, curd, mashed banana, boiled potato, rice porridge.
Give lactobaccilus for 2 to 3 days and zinc for 14 days.
Regarding rashes keep area dry, avoid diapers and air dry it.
wipe it very gently.apply emollient ever time after cleaning.
If it persist mild steroid cream will be needed.

In case symptoms do not get better in a day or two get her evaluated by pediatrician.

God bless..
