On Trigestreel. Why Did Periods Fade With Head Cramps? Why Is Tummy Growing?

Hi I was on triphasil for 21 yrs and had no problems, until recently the clinic stopped it and put me on trigestreel. My periods were getting lesser and severe headaches . Last month my period only came very lite for 1 nite. This month I never get my period, it only came very little in the shower but stopped. My tummy is getting bigger....OMG do you think I am pregnant due to the swop or is trigestreel messing my body up. Plz advise me urgently..............:-(

Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.

Triphasil and trigestrel contain same drugs and act similarly.

Both these drugs are effective in preventing pregnancy. Studies reveal when the drugs are taken regularly without a miss, it is effective in preventing upto 95-98% of pregnancies. That being said if there was a delay in starting the new regimen pregnancy is possible.
You can get your urine tested to confirm pregnancy.

If pregnancy is ruled out, all your current symptoms can be attributed to this new brand. In such a case changing the pills or stitching over to another form of contraceptive is advisable.

Hope this helps.

Wish you good health

Regards
