On Panadeine Forte, Valium For A Severe Neck Injury. Feel Dependent On The Medicines. What Are The Other Options?

I have been taking 8 panadeine forte and valium 5mg a day for over 20years due to a severe neck injury and I want to stop taking them as I feel I am dependant on them. I have tried cold turkey but keep relapsing. I have also tried halving the valium but haven't lasted.
So now I am wondering if I try shaving of a bit of the tablets and step that down to less and less over time whether that will work. I want to try something so I thought I'd try this. What do others think about this method. Has anyone else tried this?

Hi, what you are thinking is a tapering of the dose of the medicine, instead of making pieces, there will be tablets of half the dose and quarter the dose, and then you can make pieces.
I to my patient with such pain prescribe neurotropic injections for 10 consecutive days and pragabolin for 30 days, while tapering the dose. Thank you.
