On Hormone Replacement Therapy, Have Redness, Swelling, Hardening On The Site Of Mdpbp Shot. Bothersome?

I am really embarrassed about this but worried. So I went to a Christmas party last week. A friend said that she had some stuff that would help me stay up. Mdpbp or something g like that she said it was better if you shot it up. She used a clean needle cuz I unpacked it myself and I injected it my self. I know I did the injection right and did not miss. But it did burn a lot. Now today I have noticed my arm above about two Inches is red and not really swollen but warm and I can feel the vein is harder there. What do I do I have been applying warm compress on it but I am worried. I am on hormone replacement therapy

Hello,

Redness, swelling, hardening on the site of then injections are symptoms suggestive of phlebitis.

Phlebitis is a condition in which a vein becomes inflamed and this inflammation may cause pain, redness, and swelling(like in your case).

The treatment for this condition apart warm compresses is anti-inflammatory drugs anti even antibiotic if it is associated with a local skin infection.

Your hormone replacement therapy( HRT) has not any correlation with your actual symptoms but I want to underline that you can have serious side effects or interaction between your HRT and stimulant drugs.

So it is better to avoid taking drugs in the future.

My advice is to consult physically your local physician for the right treatment of your vein condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
