On Birth Control Pills Due To Adenomeiosis And Having Severe Bleeding With Long Cycle

I had a uterine ablasion about 5 years ago. Developed adenomeiosis about 6 months later and have been on birth control pills ever since (no placebo, only hormone pills every day of the month) in order to control the severe cramps associated with the adenomeiosis. I have never experienced any breakthrough bleeding and today I had to leave work due to a "gush". I am only at the end of my 2 week cycle in the pill pack, so nowhere close to where a normal period would take place if I were still having one.

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

The chances of bleeding in your case is most likely due to hormonal imbalance caused by pill. Take hemostatic medicine but if persistent then needs evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Richa Agarwal, OBGYN
