How Can Pressure In The Sinuses And Tinnitus Be Treated?

On January 10th I started getting pressure in my sinuses. The next day the pressure became extreme. It has been a month and I still have have the sinus pressure and now dark circles around my eyes. Also, having night head sweats. The discharge from my nose is clear although on one occasion when I blew my nose it was greenish with flecks of blood, but none since. In addition, I have intermittent ringing in my ears. I went to see my doctor and she is convinced it is allergies, but I disagree! It has been a wet Winter and my house has been musty smelling on occasion during this time. I am convinced it is Mold/mycotoxin that is is the culprit. I am having the indoor air quality of my home tested for mold on Monday. What is your opinion? What do you recommend? Thank you!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Pressure in sinuses or tinnitus may be due to acute sinusitis with post nasal drip with Eustachian tube block.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Use tablet Pantoprazole.

Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

Use tablet Augmentin.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
