On Alesse 28 Oral Contraceptive Pill. Have Heavy Bleeding Before Starting Placebo. Advice?
Hey so I've been on Alesse 28 oral contraceptive since october 2012 and just yesterday which was 2 days before I start my placebo, I started having breakthrough bleeding. I feel fine so how serious should I take this? Should I just continue with my regular pill tonight and then continue with my placebo starting tomorrow and then through the coming week?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The heavy bleeding that you had is likely to be due to your normal cyclic rhythm. Stopping the pill would have increased the bleeding. You can start the pills after 7 placebo pills as scheduled. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
